Kenny Cheung
Chairman & CEO
Mr. Cheung is an entrepreneur and a private equity investor with over 20 years of experience in financing and structuring companies. He is experienced in assembling and financing the right management teams to achieve the best exit strategy and build wealth. He has a proven track record of funding early-stage companies that have gone on to become successful business enterprises.
Mr. Cheung founded Koi Investment Partners International in 2010 to create a vehicle for wealth conservation. Mr. Cheung took his passion for building businesses to the finance world. Mr. Cheung’s commitment to excellence is evident in his collaboration with leading mathematics professors from premier universities. This partnership ensures that his work is of the highest quality and is backed by rigorous academic research.
Mr. Cheung is the Responsible Officer (RO) for Koi Investment Partners International, as required for regulatory compliance under the Securities and Futures Ordinance (SFO), Type 9 license, which provides asset management services.
Dr. Albert Cheung
Director of Research
Dr. Cheung is an accomplished engineer and engineering consultant with over 45 years of experience in both academia and industry, spanning the US and Hong Kong. With expertise in applying chaos, wavelet, and network theories to economic systems, Dr. Cheung leads Koi Investment Partners’ research team in financial modelling and algorithm design for the company’s investment services, as well as in generating future products.
In 2013, Dr. Cheung was appointed as an Honorary Professor at the School of Science and Technology, Open University of Hong Kong, having previously served as Director of the Building and Real Estate Laboratory in the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering at the City University of Hong Kong from 2004 to 2013.
Dr. Cheung began his academic career at the University of California, Berkeley, where he received his PhD in Microwave Astrophysics and Electronics. He also holds an MA in Solid-State Physics and Laser Optics from UC Berkeley and a BS with Great Distinction in Physics from Stanford University, California. He is a fellow of the IET (UK) and the HKIE (HK), a Chartered Engineer in the UK and Hong Kong, and a Registered Professional Engineer in Hong Kong.
Thomas Kwong
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Kwong joined Koi Investment Partners International in 2011. He has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry.
From 2006 to 2010, Mr. Kwong held a pivotal role as the Director of Operations at Frontier Asia Capital Hong Kong Limited. Before that, Mr. Kwong’s career at State Street Hong Kong was marked by versatility. He assumed various roles in the Investment Servicing division, demonstrating his adaptability and a broad range of skills. His last position was as Assistant Vice President, where he was responsible for covering major institutional clients and investment managers in the Asia region.
Mr. Kwong received a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business at York University in Canada.
